Gateway Church operates under the articles of the Baptist faith. The beliefs of Gateway
Church are found in the Bible, which we believe is God's infallible written Holy Word. We
believe that it was uniquely, verbally and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit and that it was written
without error (inerrant). It is the supreme and final authority in all matters on which it speaks.
We believe there is one true God, eternally existing in three persons; God the Father, God the
Son, and God the Holy Spirit--each co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in
power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections.
We believe that Jesus Christ is God, the Living Word, who became flesh through His
miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and His virgin birth. Jesus Christ was 100% man
and 100 % God. He is perfect Deity and true humanity united in one person forever.
We believe that Jesus lived a sinless life and voluntarily gave Himself for the sins of men by
dying on the cross as their substitute. This satisfied divine justice and accomplishing salvation
for all who trust in Him alone.
We believe that Jesus Christ rose from the dead in the same body, though glorified, in which
He lived and died.
We believe that Jesus Christ ascended bodily into heaven and sat down at the right hand of
God the Father. He is our only Mediator between God and man, and He continually makes
intercession for His children.
We believe that man was originally created in the image of God. Because he disobeyed God
and chose sin, he was alienated from his Creator. That historic fall brought all mankind under
divine condemnation.
We believe that man's nature is corrupted, and in his own strength, is totally unable to please
God. Every man is in need of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
We believe that Salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal
faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on the cross of Calvary for the
forgiveness of our sins.
We believe that the great blessing, which Christ secures to such as believe in Him, is
justification; that justification includes the pardon of all sin, and the promise of eternal life;
that it is bestowed, not in consideration of any work of righteousness which we have done, but
solely through faith in the Redeemer’s blood.
We believe that repentance and faith are sacred duties and inseparable graces, wrought in our
souls by the regenerating Spirit of God. When we are deeply convicted of our guilt, danger
and helplessness, and of the way of salvation by Christ, we turn to God with brokenness,
confession and humbly ask for mercy; at the same time heartily receiving the Lord Jesus
Christ and relying upon Him alone as the only and all-sufficient Savior.
We believe that sanctification is the process by which, according to the will of God, we are
made partakers of His holiness; that it is a progressive work; that it is begun in regeneration;
and that it is carried on in the hearts of believers by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit,
through the appropriated means of the Word of God, self-examination, self-denial, and prayer.
We believe that all true believers are sealed by the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption;
that they are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation.
We believe that God admonishes His people to assemble together regularly for worship; to
worship a Risen Savior, to participate in ordinances, to be equipped through the Scriptures
how to live for Christ, and to give and receive encouragement.
We believe that the members are to give financially what God has required of them to support
the ministries, activities, and Missions of the Local Church.
We believe that at physical death the believer’s soul and spirit enters immediately into eternal,
conscious fellowship with the Lord and awaits the resurrection of his body to everlasting
glory and blessing. At physical death the unbeliever’s soul and spirit enters immediately into
eternal, conscious separation from the Lord and awaits the resurrection of his body to
everlasting judgment and condemnation.
We believe that Jesus Christ will come again, first for His Church [all born-again believers];
this is called the Rapture; then there will be a time of Tribulation that will take place on earth
for 7 years. At the end of the Tribulation period, He will return to the earth -- personally,
visibly and bodily, to rule and reign 1000 years.
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ commanded all believers to proclaim the Gospel throughout
the world and to disciple men of every nation. The fulfillment of that Great Commission
requires a total commitment to "Him who loved us and gave Himself for us."
We have a variety of ministries that you can get involved with, including children's ministry, youth ministry, and adult small groups. These ministries provide opportunities for fellowship, growth, and service.
We believe that church is more than just a Sunday service - it's about being a part of a community that supports and encourages one another.
